Turkish citizens are voting on a constitutional amendment towards the introduction of a presidential system, which would award more power to the President. A total of 58.2 million eligible voters were summoned to the polls, of which 55.3 million live in Turkey and 2.9 million abroad. The latter had already had up until last Sunday the chance to cast their votes in their respective countries of residence. In Germany the participation rate lay at almost 49%.
